“We are ACA. We empower our community with knowledge, spirit and service”

Principal

Assalam Alaikum Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year. We are so excited to start the new school year and plan to provide you with lots of new, positive opportunities to learn, grow and discover your passion, InshaAllah.  For over 20 years, Arizona Cultural Academy has established a tradition of excellence, built upon the belief that hard work, dedication and commitment form the foundation of success. At ACA, we believe that providing students with a unique and valuable educational experience in a Islamic environment is our number one priority.

This is my 17th year in the field of education and I am honored to be a part of the ACA family, helping to guide our young Muslim students through their educational paths. Much of my career has been in the classroom as an educator. I spent 7 years in the Cartwright Elementary School District in Phoenix, Arizona before moving up to become a high school math teacher at Summit High School in Phoenix, Arizona.  After teaching high school for 4 years I found ACA and transitioned into joining the ACA family.  I started at ACA as a middle school English and Social Studies teacher before moving into an Instructional Coaching position. Last school year I transitioned into the Interim Principal position which I am honored to be continuing in.

I obtained my Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University in Elementary Education with a specialization in English as a Second Language. My Master's Degree was obtained from the University of Phoenix in Teacher Leadership and I completed my Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction last school year.

It is a tremendous honor and privilege to work alongside such a wonderful faculty, staff, students, and parents that make up the ACA community. Our school is most certainly a unique and special place - a true Islamic and academic community made better by all those who are involved.

It is important that students become involved in the various programs, academies, athletics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities available at ACA. All students are encouraged to seek out experiences that match their talents and interests. These positive experiences help students develop their self-confidence, build their school pride, and feel connected with their school.

It is important to remember, however, that you are not alone on this journey.  The amazing staff and faculty at ACA believe in you and will be right behind you each and every step of the way.  At ACA, we encourage parents, grandparents, and extended family to play a positive role in our student’s future. The more involvement we have by our community, the greater the success we will all experience.  Together, we can accomplish great things InshaAllah. ACA is at the forefront of Islamic education and we are entering into an unrelenting pursuit to create an extraordinary school experience that inspires our students to become powerful leaders in our community.

On behalf of our faculty and staff members, we extend an enthusiastic welcome to all of our students and families.  We look forward to working with each of you this coming year. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the ACA administrative team - we are here to serve you!

Thank you for your support of Arizona Cultural Academy.

May Allah protect us all.
